About [ The Role]
We are looking for a hybrid Site Reliability Engineer / Storage Architect with deep expertise in enterprise and cloud-native storage platforms. This role combines architectural responsibility with hands-on operational ownership, ensuring storage solutions are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned with platform and business requirements.
You will define storage architectures and standards while remaining directly involved in operating and evolving ODF/Ceph and NetApp environments in production.
Your Tasks
- Design, standardize, and evolve storage architectures based on ODF/Ceph and NetApp platforms
- Act as technical authority for storage-related decisions, patterns, and best practices
- Operate and maintain production storage platforms, ensuring availability, performance, and data integrity
- Define reliability objectives (SLIs/SLOs) and drive improvements through automation and observability
- Perform capacity planning, lifecycle management, upgrades, and migrations
- Lead root-cause analysis for complex storage incidents and define preventive measures
- Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and application teams to design end-to-end storage solutions
- Provide guidance and reviews for project and product teams consuming storage services
- Maintain architecture documentation, standards, and operational runbooks
What you need:
- Proven experience in a senior SRE, Storage Architect, or Platform Architect role
- Deep, hands-on experience with: ODF / Ceph (architecture, deployment, scaling, upgrades, recovery)
- Experience in NetApp storage systems (ONTAP, SnapMirror/SnapVault, performance tuning)
- Strong understanding of distributed storage architectures and failure domains
- Demonstrated experience operating storage in production environments
- Solid Linux and storage networking knowledge (NFS, SMB, iSCSI, Fibre Channel)
- Experience designing for high availability, disaster recovery, and security
- Automation and scripting experience (Python, Bash, Ansible)
- Nice to Have: Kubernetes and CSI storage architecture experience, OpenShift / OpenShift Data Foundation knowledge, Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices, Experience in regulated, safety-critical, or large-scale environments, Relevant vendor certifications (Red Hat, NetApp)
